Free and affordable health care just gets better and better.
  
 In 2015 the government will be activating some new �incentives� embedded
in the Affordable Care Act in an effort to get more people to sign up.
  
 But, as is often the case when the government says one thing, they mean
exactly the opposite. In this case, when they say incentive what they
really mean is that you are going to be penalized if you fail to acquire
government mandated health insurance. But not just you. Your children,
who apparently no longer belong to you anyway based on a recent court
ruling, will be fined for your failure to get them on the insurance rolls:
  
 Penalties for failing to secure a health-insurance plan will rise steeply
next year, which could take a big bite out of some families� pocketbooks.
  
 �The penalty is meant to incentivize people to get coverage,� said senior
analyst Laura Adams of InsuranceQuotes.com. �This year, I think a lot of
people are going to be in for a shock.�
  
 In 2014, Obamacare�s first year, individuals are facing a penalty of $95
per person, or 1 percent of their income, depending on which is higher. If
an American failed to get coverage this year, that penalty will be taken out
of their tax refund in early 2015, Adams noted.
  
 While that might be painful to some uninsured Americans who are counting on
their tax refunds in early 2015, the penalty for going uninsured next year
is even harsher. The financial penalty for skipping out on health coverage
will more than triple to $325 per person in 2015, or 2 percent of income,
depending on whichever is higher.
  
 Children will be fined at half the adult rate, or $162.50 for those under
18 years old.
  
 So, that�s your incentive. Either sign up for Obamacare at a rate of roughly
$750 a month or more for a middle-class family of four, or pay a $325 penalty
or two percent of your income, whichever is higher. Plus, if you have kids,
they�ve been incentivized too!
  
 Moreover, if you fail to sign up for Obamacare and subsequently refuse to pay
your penalty your house will be raided by armed IRS agents, seized by the
government, and you�ll be imprisoned for tax evation.
  
 Welcome to the new Amerika, where a fascist government now has the power to compel
you to purchase products from private companies under the threat of imprisonment
or death. Yes, death. Because if you run from those armed IRS agents they�re
going to use their brand new militarized AR-15s to ensure your compliance.
  
 At this point the only chance Americans have for the complete destruction of
the Affordable Care Act is for a Supreme Court ruling expected in the Spring
of 2015. If the court rules against Obamacare over its illegal federal subsidies

 On Tuesday, LA Weekly reported that several upscale restaurants
in the City of Angels will be adding a 3 percent surcharge to cover
their employees� healthcare costs, a trend that has been gaining steam
since the Affordable Care Act launched nearly one year ago.
  
 Beginning on September 1, restaurants Lucques, Tavern, A.O.C, and a
few offshoots all added a 3 percent surcharge to customers� checks,
explicitly stating in a press release their decisions hinged on covering
employee healthcare costs.
  
 Lucques Group, Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, owners of the
restaurants, also named several other restaurant groups that will be
duplicating their efforts; Restaurants Rustic Canyon, The Hungry Cat

 This decision comes almost one year after another upscale LA restaurant,
Republique, announced they�d also be adding a 3% surcharge for the same
reason. Some on Yelp have condemned the restaurants for exercising their
rights as a business, calling the move both greedy and misleading, with

have proof.
  
 As the Philly Fed, which mysteriously soared at the headline level even
as the vast majority of its components tumbled, reported moments ago, "in
special questions this month, firms were asked qualitative questions about
the effects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how, if at all, they are
making changes to their employment and compensation, including benefits."
  
 What the survey found was very disturbing: not only did businesses
report that as a result of Obamacare the number of workers they employ
is lower than higher (18.2% vs 3.0%), that there has been an increase
in part time jobs (18.2% higher vs 1.5% lower), leading to a big increase
in outsourcing and most importantly, Obamacare costs are being largely
passed on to customers (28.8% reporting higher vs 0.0% lower), the
punchline was that while there is basically no change in the number
of employees covered (17.6% higher vs 14.7% lower and 67.6% unchanged),
there has been a big jump in Premiums, Deductibles, Out-of-pocket maximums,
and Copays, which has been "matched" by a far greater reduction in the
range of medical coverage and the size of the network.

though taxpayers are giving them $580 a month.
  
 That�s correct; universities don�t provide postdoctoral
fellows (the people who do research at the universities)
with health insurance. I knew that going into it and had
no issues with getting private health insurance. The
issue here is that this new entitlement program will most
certainly continue the flat funding of National Institutes
of Health (NIH), indefinitely. Not only is money needlessly
being siphoned away to pay for my worthless health insurance,
the failed federal/state websites for the exchanges cost
around 2 billion dollars to produce. NIH, recently, was
able to get an extra 1 billion dollars to fund medical
research. I wonder if 3 billion would have been better.
